The Challenge

Reporting directly to the Company’s Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel, Global Labor & Employment, you will provide advice and counsel to the People team on employment relations matters across the Americas region (predominantly the U.S. and Canada) to ensure prompt and thorough follow-through, and advise on issues relating to recruiting, diversity and inclusion, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, immigration, contingent workers, and reductions in force. Strong advisory and project management skills, along with excellent business judgment and the ability to effectively partner and collaborate with business groups throughout OneTrust, will be among the more important keys to your success. The issues you will have to address will require real-time analysis and practical advice. You must be able to work under significant pressure and maintain a sense of patience, camaraderie, and respect.  

Your Mission

  • Handle employment-related disputes;  
  • Source and manage outside counsel on labor and employment matters;  
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across functions, including the People Team, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Finance, Comp/Benefits, and Global Mobility, as well as business leaders;  
  • Evaluate, iterate, and scale employment practices and policies at a growing organization;  
  • Draft, review, and update employment related agreements, handbooks, and templates;  
  • Conduct audits, employment classification reviews, and support other compliance-related efforts;  
  • Develop and conduct training and programs for employees, managers, and the People Team; and  
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to employment issues and help operationalize changes with relevant stakeholders as necessary.

  • A self-starter who works independently to develop objectives and complete assigned tasks, but is also a strong, enthusiastic thought partner who is comfortable with direction   
  • Excited by trust, all things data governance, and being part of an organization that is constantly evolving and pushing the boundaries of customer success in a creative, responsible way    
You Have 
  • A minimum of 8 years of employment law experience, preferably with in-house experience in a fast-paced company  
  • Membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar   
  • A good sense of humor (we take our work—but not ourselves—very seriously)  
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills  
  • A thoughtful, business-minded approach to providing legal counsel   

For California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington-based candidates: the annual base pay range for this role is listed below. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including location, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education and/or training. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity, and/or commissions, as well as benefits.

Salary Range

$116,475$174,712.50 USD
