On January 15, 2020, the French data protection authority (CNIL) published updated guidelines for managing cookies. The guidelines reinterpret Article 5.3 of the 2013 ePrivacy Directive, which included the obligation to obtain prior consent before placing or accessing cookies (or similar technologies).
