Webinar Date: Tuesday, December 15, 2020 | 5:00 pm GMT, 12:00 pm EST
On November 17, 2020, the Digital Charter Implementation Act (‘Bill C-11′), was tabled in the House of Commons. If passed, Bill C-11 will significantly overhaul Canada’s federal private sector privacy laws, effectively replacing the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act with the new Consumer Protection Privacy Act. Bill C-11 will also result in the creation of a new enforcement tribunal through implementation of the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act.
Join OneTrust DataGuidance and Edwards, Kenny & Bray LLP for a webinar discussing Bill C-11’s proposed reforms and their impact on organizations doing business in Canada.
Key topics that will be covered include:
- increased enforcement mechanisms;
- valid consent;
- accountability and privacy management;
- individual rights;
- cross-border transfers;
- consistency with GDPR; and
- impact on provincial privacy laws.
