Panama’s Personal Data Protection Law Infographic

Panama’s Personal Data Protection Law came into effect on March 29, 2021, bringing a new set of compliance challenges for organizations.
The law will apply to natural or legal persons, public or private law, and profitable and non-profit organizations and establishes that for the processing of personal data to be lawful, it must be carried out with the prior, informed, and unequivocal consent of the data subject, or leveraging another legal basis, including being necessary for the fulfilling a contractual obligation, provided that the data subject is a party.
