Brazil’s first General Data Protection Law (LGPD) has recently passed through their Senate bringing new privacy protection to Brazilian consumers. Although the LGPD is leaner than the GDPR, there are overlapping principles such as, accountability, purpose limitation, data minimization as well as security and privacy by design.
