On July 28, the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) issued updated guidance on the use of cookies based on the new guidelines from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB). The AEPD cookie consent guidance provides companies doing business in Spain with more clarity on how to lawfully obtain consent for tracking technologies with a user interface, such as a banner and a preference center. Enforcement of the updated guidelines commences on October 31.

To help companies meet the AEPD’s October 31 deadline, OneTrust launched the Spanish AEPD Cookie Consent Fast Track program (también disponible en español) to help companies create and launch cookie banners that comply with the updated guidance. With the OneTrust platform and Cookie Consent Product available in both Spanish and English, OneTrust can help companies get up and running with their Spanish AEPD cookie consent banner in as little as 24 hours.
