The Challenge: Managing risk at global scale

As a global recruitment leader with operations spanning Australia, China, Europe, the UK, South Africa, and beyond, PageGroup faces a complex cyber security and regulatory landscape. Managing third-party risk, complying with regional regulations, and maintaining consistent governance across dozens of countries quickly becomes unmanageable without the right infrastructure.

Before OneTrust, risk data was fragmented. “You need to have one tool to manage your risk, otherwise you will have hundreds of spreadsheets all over the place, and you won’t be able to manage your risk,” explains Gemma Lopez, Head of Cyber Security management at PageGroup 

Without a centralized view, teams were spending significant time pulling data together manually, which limited real-time visibility into risk and slowed executive reporting.

The Solution: One centralized platform for cyber risk

PageGroup turned to OneTrust to centralize cyber security, vendor risk, and compliance management across the business. Today, PageGroup can see global risk exposure in one place, enabling consistent oversight and faster decision-making.

“Centralized data, centralized vendors, risk assets, all together in one tool—you are able to really see which is the real risk for your company,” says Lopez.

Executives and security leaders now have a single source of truth they can rely on. That visibility is critical when it matters most. “If someone from the executive board comes tomorrow and says this company has had a breach, I know that I can go to one tool, OneTrust, and review our risk with them,” Lopez notes. “Which assets do we have, and what is the risk we have?” 

Enabling compliance across regulations and regions

Operating globally means navigating vastly different regulatory requirements. OneTrust enables PageGroup to apply consistent controls while meeting multiple regulatory obligations simultaneously.

“If you put everything together into one tool, you can see that with the same control, you are able to comply with a lot of different regulations,” Lopez explains. “Without OneTrust, or without a tool that helps you to do that, I think that’s impossible to manage.”

This capability also supports PageGroup’s ISO 27001 certification, where evidence collection has traditionally been manual and time-consuming. “The ability to automate assessments and evidence gathering is a major step forward,” Lopez describes. “It really simplifies audits, vendor assessments, and client security questionnaires,” she adds.

Preparing for the next frontier: AI Governance

As AI adoption accelerates across the business, PageGroup recognizes that AI governance requires a fundamentally different approach. “The governance of AI is different from other things because there are regulations that are only AI-oriented,” says Lopez. “People started to use AI without any kind of governance, and now we are all realizing we need to do something about that.” 

With OneTrust, PageGroup is laying the foundation for responsible AI use - aligning innovation with emerging regulations and internal controls. Looking ahead, Lopez is optimistic about the role automation and AI-driven capabilities will play. “New features, new automatizations, new ways of using AI with OneTrust. I really look forward to seeing what’s coming,” she says.
