PRIVACY MANAGEMENT

Expanded US consumer rights: What’s new and what should you do?

The new era of US State privacy laws gives US consumers additional privacy rights beginning January 1, 2023. Important examples include the right to opt-out of data sharing and profiling, to limit the use of sensitive personal information (SPI), the right to rectification or correction, and the right to appeal.

These new requirements take consumer rights compliance beyond a simple form on your website and will require organizations to better understand their use of personal and sensitive personal data, how they target and profile customers for marketing purposes, and how customer data is used and protected across the data lifecycle.

Join OneTrust experts to understand:

  • The operational impact of these newly-expanded US consumer rights
  • How to automate consumer rights request fulfillment
  • How maturing request-based consumer rights processes to a preference-based approach can build trust with consumers and limit costly access & deletion requests
