Today is an exciting day for OneTrust: we announced our acquisition of DataGuidance, an in-depth and up-to-date privacy and security regulatory research platform.
DataGuidance is an indexed, structured, categorized and searchable platform of hundreds of global privacy and security laws and frameworks, along with over ten thousand associated templates, guidance, case law and resources.
Built on more than 20 years’ experience in the market, DataGuidance’s insights, global coverage and updated nature of the platform comes from a contributor network of 500 privacy lawyers across 300 jurisdictions, combined with over 15 in-house legal researchers who feed daily updates and alerts into the platform.
Hear from OneTrust CEO Kabir Barday and DataGuidance CEO David Longford on the importance of today’s news:
The OneTrust and DataGuidance integration is available today. Customers can log in to DataGuidance directly from the OneTrust platform, and the associated insight from DataGuidance is integrated directly into OneTrust products. This allows companies to use OneTrust for compliance with hundreds of global privacy and security laws and frameworks, including recent regulatory updates such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, Brazil LGPD, GDPR and all EU Member State Derogations.
Privacy by Design creator Ann Cavoukian, PhD, commented on the news:
“The area of privacy-preserving measures is constantly in flux. For true data protection, privacy professionals need technologies that are powered by the latest research, while remaining flexible enough to allow companies to create their own programs that best suit their business needs. I’ve watched OneTrust and DataGuidance grow over the years and deliver true value, especially for their customers. I have no doubt that combining the two will deliver even greater value for their customers. This is a unique integration for all involved, ultimately yielding positive gains for the privacy field.”
Together, OneTrust and DataGuidance have 700 full-time employees across 6 global locations, including over 300 resources in R&D engineering, 100 in global professional services supporting our combined 2,500 customers.
