California’s CPRA enters into effect – Are you compliant?

More than two years since it was passed, the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (‘CPRA’) has become fully operational as of January 1, 2023, introducing numerous changes to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (‘CCPA’), such as new obligations, expanded consumer rights, and the establishment of the California Privacy Protection Agency (‘CPPA’). With most of the CPRA’s provisions being applicable to personal information collected from January 1, 2022, businesses will need to review their operations to make sure they are compliant.
