On June 4, 2021, the European Commission adopted new Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for the transfer of personal data to third countries. The Commission explained that the new SCCs will offer greater legal predictability to European businesses and help small and medium-sized enterprises to comply with the GDPR’s requirements for safe data transfers. This checklist will help organizations react to the new SCCs and outlines some of the key steps you can take to revise existing contracts, leverage existing GDPR compliance tools, and raise internal awareness of the new clauses.
